{Playing in Preschool}

My littlest darling is wanting more and more to be a part of whatever it is we are doing during our school time.  As I was working on math with Bear and grading a test of Bubba's, I handed the girls their new wiki stix.  Panda was to put candles on the cake...matching her age.  And Dub was to outline the rectangle and triangle.  I knew this was going to be a challenge for my sensory loving baby girl but hoped she would at least try and not get too frustrated.  A few moments later, I glanced down to find her meticulously folding the wiki stick to be the precise length of the shorter side of the rectangle.  No prompting, no example given.  This child is continually blowing us away with her engineering skills! Not to mention that she had all the sticks perfectly lined up on the dotted lines and wouldn't even show me her work until it was perfect.  Diligent doll, indeed!

I have been prayerful over beginning school with her in the fall...not quite sure if she's ready yet and definitely not wanting to push her.  But, this gentle approach is perfect for her...hands on every moment will be key, too!  She was so proud and this is definitely the longest she has sat in one location in a while.  From the looks of it, she's going to be one FUN little pupil!

Panda gave her cake 7 perfectly curled candles and a few balloons, too!
