Thank you for all your comments, emails & calls concerning Luke & his little belly issues! The devil has tried so hard to get a foothold on my fears through all of this…it’s a constant battle. I know my God is bigger…and in the grand scheme of things, this isn’t all that big of a deal. It’s still so hard to see your baby in pain…and especially when you don’t know what is causing it.
As some of you know, Luke ended up with an ear infection in addition to everything else by the end of last week. He is being referred to the ENT for tubes which I think I am ready for. I hope and pray it helps him…I don’t want to keep putting him on antibiotics all the time and last winter was awful! We go tomorrow morning…sooner than I expected but we’re all so ready for our baby to have a chance at being well this fall.
As far as the infections go, all of his cultures came back NEGATIVE!!! Praise God! So, no e. coli, no salmonella…and more. The other side of that means that he does have some sort of allergy or sensitivity…most likely to nuts &/or cow’s milk. We said good-bye to both of those last week in every way, shape & form. We’re giving it some time for now and letting his little tummy heal. There is no rush for him to need any of these right now so perhaps in a few months we’ll try one at a time and see what happens. He’s starting to take to his rice milk (gag!) and his appetite is slowly improving.
I can’t tell you how much I value your support & friendship. Knowing that others care & that I am not alone in this is such an encouragement to me.
Now…here’s some proof that our little bear is starting to feel more like his old self again…typical Luke face when he’s not getting what he wants…it’s this & screaming that we’re accustomed to.
He’s a dare devil at heart! I can always find him climbing up something…Wyatt’s bunkbed ladder, standing on the box of wipes to get to the table, and this is his new favorite…
(sorry it’s all out of focus & the lighting is terrible but I tried to get the picture before he fell off!)
Oh…and this is his new style (you know, when he’s not wearing a Jon-jon! ha!)
Nice! I think Wyatt was hiding his face in disgrace. Luke’s going to be my naked baby…I can see it now!
So, as you can see…we need prayers & in more than one way! I’ll keep y’all posted as to how his ENT appointment goes in the morning. Thanks, friends!
