{Mommy-Daddy Time}

A much needed little escape for Mom and Dad.  A place sacred to our spirits and where our souls truly rest...The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island.

When I saw the weather forecast earlier in the week, I just smiled and thanked God for His goodness.  First of December and the weather was sunny and mid to upper 70s.  It was truly Heaven on Earth!

We enjoyed coffee (for him) and tea (for me) on the balcony overlooking the Atlantic.

We went for a 3 mile walk along the shore at nearly sunrise.

We took selfies like a couple of teenagers.

We encountered very impressive bucks along the road.  This one let me talk to him for a bit like I do to the ones at our home.

We ate dinner outside and watched the moon literally disappear during a backwards solar eclipse.  We had no clue except that one moment the moon was a tiny sliver, then it was a very strange orange glow and then it was gone!  We googled it, of course.  And then, enjoyed our dinner at The Ocean Course's Ryder Cup Bar (steak for him & salmon for me) sitting under the stars on the porch.

I got sent to the spa for half of Sunday and it was divine!  Hot tea and sauna and steam room and a Russian woman named Elena that worked a miracle on my back.

I texted this to Scott after my massage.  Definitely worth it!

The spa was not busy at all and I had the lounge to myself!  As well as the sauna, but I didn't take my phone in there.

More selfies!

And walks on the beach.

And seeing The Sanctuary all decked out for Christmas.  It was gorgeous!

We ate outside at The Jasmine Porch for our first meal there and butterflies were fluttering all around.  Of course!

I found a seashell mirror and sent a text to the girls.

And we took photos by the tree...which was at least 20 feet tall.

And found a darling little girls tree in Ladies' Parlour.  The Gentleman's side had a hearth you could walk into.

The tree lit at night on the water was gorgeous.  Scott spent a lot of time in this space while I was at the spa.

How grateful I am to have a husband who pours into our marriage and makes a way for the two of us to fall in love over and over and over again!  As we both agreed, I think we've found our place!
