Thursday, Thursday…

Well, as expected the ENT said that Little Bear needs tubes.  I really wanted for him to do it then and there…no drugs…just fussing for a few minutes.  But, due to Luke being a little older, he wouldn’t do it.  He said it would be a battle and that although he knew that he would win, Luke would be traumatized.

So, we are all set for Thursday morning (as in tomorrow) as the day.  I will be taking Luke to the surgery center by myself…something that has to be done but I am less than thrilled about.  The next available opening for the procedure would be close to another month so I took what I could get as soon as I could get it.  I know that God alone can give me the strength to hand over yet another one of my babies.  It’s just so hard to walk anywhere near that memory lane.

I am focusing on all the good things that I’ve been told from others who have had children get tubes.  I pray that it helps my baby, too.  Goodness knows, he deserves to not have an ear infection for at least two months in a row.

Maybe he’ll start talking more, too?  He has a few favorite words but certainly understands a lot!  For example, he kept turning off the DVD player last night (Wyatt was watching a little phonics movie before bedtime) and I told Luke “no” and then he did it again so I warned him that he was about to go to timeout…well, what do you think that little turkey did?…he gets the biggest grin on his face & runs straight for timeout…sits down on the timeout mat and just laughs...so proud that he’s in timeout.  Perhaps, he’s seen his big brother there a time or two and thinks it’s big stuff??  Perhaps, it’s not exactly serving its purpose with him??  Oh, this baby has us wrapped like we never imagined…

Please pray for him tomorrow morning…and for his mommy’s heart, too.

You are so cute Rebecca. Every time I read a post from you I just want to squeeze you! I know Luke will be just fine, and I bet his speech will take off in no time. I call AK my turkey too - I think she and Luke would get along just fine! Bless your heart! You are gonna have your hands full! Guess what - I'm expecting. I'm a nervous ninny to say the least but I am so very, very thankful! I hope to see you SOON! I have some things for you and just can't bear to mail them - hoping we'll meet soon enough! :o)

Praying for you friend!! No matter how "small" it may seem, it's a big deal because it's YOUR baby.

Praying that Luke will do just fine, and for you to be strong and feel God's love all around you as you hand him over and wait for his return.

Big HUGS!!

Prayers for you tomorrow friend!
Lord, guide the hands of the doctors that put the tubes in Luke's ears. Be a comfort to Rebecca and know she can rest in you!

I've already started praying... for YOU! I know Luke will be fine (and I will pray for him too), but I know this is going to be much harder for you than it will be for him! I wish you didn't have to deal with this because I know it is stirring up emotions that are difficult to handle. BUT... you will get through and Luke will end up a happier, healthier baby (can he really get any happier though?!). Praying for all of you tonight and tomorrow!

Much love,
Danielle
