So far, so good!

Annabelle definitely likes having her belly full! She was as content today as she's ever been. She slept peacefully pretty much all day with the exception of a little fussiness during her poops. That was, of course, a very welcome fussiness though. She has gotten up to her goal of 24cc's every hour and was able to keep just about all of it down with the exception of a little spit up thanks to me. I noticed that she was fussy (poopy diaper) and had permission to change it myself so I dove right in. Well, she does not like having her hiney changed and got worked up over that. Keep in mind that it takes a little longer to change her hiney seeing as how I am having to work around her blood pressure cuff, central lines into her umbilical cord, and heart leads connected directly to her right ventricle. Anyways, she got upset with me changing her and then got the hiccups right as I was finishing. Then, I decided to lotion her little legs since she's had tape pulling at her skin from all the lines and making her peel. I guess it was a little too much action and she had a little spit up at the end of it all. I don't think I could blame her. Other than that little episode, she's done well with the continuous feeds and should be starting bolus feeds tonight. This is where she will get all 24cc's over a shorter period of time (non-continuous) to try to get her tummy ready for more of what she would get with bottle feeding. We know that feeding can oftentimes be the most complex part of the recovery. Please pray that her tummy can handle all of these new changes...afterall, she was 9 days old before she even got food so this is a lot for a little body to learn.
We did get rid of another tube today! Annabelle's foley/catheter was removed so she is pooping and peeing in her diaper! The nurse weighs all of them to continue to keep track of her output. I know she has got to be happy to get rid of that one, too.
Also, we learned today that if she handles her feeds well for 24 hours then the PC will take out her heart leads/chest lines. This is one step closer to Mommy & Daddy getting to hold her again so please pray that we get these out soon! We were told that it could be as early as tomorrow. We are itching to get our hands on her! It is so comforting to know that she is in God's hands when we can't hold her. He comforts her and gives us strength to wait patiently.
Prayerfully, tomorrow we will have more good updates to report. God has been so good to us! In the midst of a very difficult and disheartening situation, we have peace that His will be done. He loves Annabelle more than we ever could (& I know that has to be a lot more than I can comprehend)!

We are so glad to hear that she is eating well. Also glad to hear the removed another tube. I hope tings go well tomorrow and they remove the other tubes so you can get to hold her again. We will be in prayer that God's Will be done and His mighty hands cradle her (always) until you get your hands back on her. Keep up the faith and to God be the glory!

Thanks, Rebecca for taking time to update us everyday on Annabelle's progess. She continues to amaze us and I'm sure the doctors are just as amazed at her progress. Our God is full of surprises and miracles.
Please know that we read your blogs every day and we are praying fervently for God to continue to heal your little angel. She is a survivor! We will be praying that Annabelle tolerates her feedings well and the other tubes will be discontinued quickly so you and Scott can hold her again. Keep the faith and know that God is in control of every little detail!
We can't wait to have you all back "home". Tell Annabelle that everyone at church can't wait to meet her! We love you!

Rebecca and Scott, your trust in God is so beautiful and a testimony to what our relationship to Christ should be. I just want you to know that baby Annabelle is not the only witness through all of this! Your strong spirit is humbling!! You and your family are on my mind, in my heart, and in my prayers!! I pray that you get to hold her again soon!
With Christ's love,
