Just Because You {Didn’t} Ask!

I’ve been logging a lot of miles on my dreadmill preparing for this next half marathon that is less than 3 weeks away!  I always do my long runs on the weekend…outside…with people…who talk.  I seriously have not even listened to music during a long run in months.  (This coming from the girl who initially had to have music blaring her eardrums out  to even put one foot in front of the other at a barely jogging pace.)  But, come the weekdays…I must have tunes.  I run 3 miles twice a week (usually Mon & Thurs) and 5-6 miles once in the middle of the week.   To help me pass the time, I’ve been in search of the world’s greatest 5K playlist ever.  And, since I’m so nice…I’m sharing it with you! ;)

{Warning: My mind requires me to run more than my body does.  Yes, the physical results are great.  But, more than anything, I have to run to get my head right.  I think a lot.  I pray a lot.  I worship a lot.  I even sing some if I’m not panting to breathe.  No party dance music or hip hop or whatever else that stuff is that’s on the radio these days.  I’ve tried it and it did nothing for me.  This list takes the focus off of me and reflects it onto Christ.  He’s the one giving me the strength anyways so I figure the music might as well be about Him, too.}

So, without further ado…the playlist that will rock your 3 mile run:

“You Alone Can Rescue” by Matt Redman (Passion: Awakening)

“All My Fountains” by Chris Tomlin (Passion: Here For You)

“Lay Me Down” from Passion: White Flag feat. Chris Tomlin

“Keep Your Eyes Open”  by NEEDTOBREATHE

“Forever Reign” by Hillsong Live

“Your Love Never Fails” by Jesus Culture

“After All” by David Crowder Band

“One Thing Remains” by Jesus Culture

“Stronger” by Mandisa

And…for my cooldown I still love “Where I Belong” by Building 429

Happy Running, friends!!
